would you rather work in fields that are single gendered dominant?

do you fell these jobs are easier to focus when the most tempting thing is out of the picture, the opposite sex?

do you think this is why people choose certain careers that are majority single gendered dominant?

Hmm! Since when do people choose careers because of it's gender dominance?!
(And you're badly assuming everyone is attracted to the opposite sex.)

To answer the first question, I've been in combat units and spent years around "just guys" and for that job, I'd prefer it was single gender dominant because I wouldn't want to watch other women not showering for weeks and getting shot and killed etc.

But in my current office job it's co-ed and I think it's a lot better and it's not a distraction at all because if you've ever worked around women, they end up being more like family and less like a distraction (except maybe a certain few) and even then, it doesn't prevent you from doing your job.

I would rather work around men.If I'm working I'm there to work and seeing women is often distracting.I have had some women bosses that were down right tough to work for.I prefer a male boss.

I seem to get into a female dominated profession all the time and I'm really want to make a switch. It seems that women have "more to prove" making it much harder to work for them

I tend to get into male dominated feilds. This always seems to challange me more, so in the end, I tend to do an amazing job. I have always done very well so this mentality seems to work for me.

As a female, I would rather work with more men. Females are too gossipy and bitches. Men work and are straight to the point. Plus as a female, Its easier to call in when your boss is a male. Then being the only female, I would have a stronger push to succeed to show them that a female can do the job just as good if not better, I like a challenge. ;)

Male dominated, because we as females tend to be very bitchy and catty with each other in all things. I have had three female boses over the past three years, and each one of them bitches made me want to strangle them!LOL We females are very jealous and very competitive, if we feel someone it trying to steal our spotlight we attack. You don't see very many men trying to cut each other off at the knees at work, like most women do. Hell women can't even hang out after work like dudes, because they want to gossip and start shit with each other. I pray the next boss I have is a dude. because the next female boss I get, that treats me like shit i going to knock out.

I do miss working at CVS, flirting with some of my coworkers was always fun haha

Personally, I would take any career or job possible. XD I don't care whether it is male or female dominated, or dominated by a particular group of people, regardless of what they are. I'll take or work in anything. XDDDD

Personally though, I would prefer to work in something tiat like, and usually the amount of women or men that are a inb don't even matter, it's about getting the job regardless of those qualifications, I think.

Okay, there is still a "glass ceiling" for women and minorities in some career fields, but smart businesses today realize that it's not about male, female, Black, White, Yellow, Brown, or Red, it's about GREEN! Always has been and always will be, LOL! Public image is everything and its just smart business to appeal to as many people as you can.

For example, my band is called the LezBnRocker Chicks and yes, we are girls and we are lesbians. But, we encourage EVERYONE to come to our concerts because guys and straight women enjoy our music and our shows too. The girls and I are artists at getting people to relax, laugh and just have a great time. And, I think our music has a message that everyone can learn something from.

    Luv,
    Leslie,
    The LezBnRocker Chicks

It doesn't matter. Different Personalities are harder to work with than the gender issue.
