So it's on a new RWD platform and everyone keeps talking about it using the Subuaru 2.0L H-4 (normally 170 hp/lb-ft, may be a little more here) and starting in the low 20Ks.

While it looks cool and Toyota name > Hyundai name ... won't it need a lot more pop under the hood? I see a lot of people walking past it for a Genesis Coupe or something.

    Looks sweet though:

Toyotas are so exhilarating that you get tired and fall asleep at the wheel :D

it stays true to the original idea.

    don't think Genesis.

think RWD Corolla. and all of a sudden a 2.0L Subaru boxer motor looks awesome.

genesis is a bigger car for an older market.

but i'm just going by the FT-86 badges on the rear of the car

maybe they will call it the celica? IDK?

with those specs i think it would be the perfect successor to the celica, it what it should been, well at least the last gen, the previous ones were prtty good

    i think it's great.

toyota needs some new life in the sporty car department.

the scions are so cookie cutter and awkward, i never developed a taste for them

    toyota needs this.

The Scion TC was basically the replacement for the Celica.

I agree with everyone's points thus far.

Yeah it's very similar in theory to an AE.

I would like to see Subie and Toyoter make each unique though; don't just rebadge and re-grille them. Give the Subie the 2.0L H-4 and maybe a 2.5T H-4 from the WRX (or STi ... hint hint Subuaru), and their Sym AWD. Toyota can remain RWD and come with the new 2.5L and some upgrade engine. The 3.5L would be nice but heavy for the front end of a lil car like this. Supercharged-from-the-factory 2.5L?

And yes, the new Evora is madd tyte win.
