Question: is the Islamic Prophet Mohammad, who many Muslims consider the “
Perfect Man for all time”, and a role model for all time, and the greatest person to have ever lived, a good ROLE MODEL for kids today? Please discuss.
He undoubtedly did many many good things. Here is a just SMALL, partial list of good verses in the Islamic texts:

* Had sex with a 9 year old girl, when he was 53

* Sold these victims into slavery after rape.
* Killer of 600+ captives in one day alone - Banu Qurayza

* A criminal, who by today’s standards committed thousands of crimes.
* Said women are deficient intellectually and spiritually

* Kill someone who leaves Islam

* Was a torturer. Mohammad drove nails into and gouged out the eyes of people from the ‘Urayna Tribe. He also cut off their opposite legs and arms, and left them to die

* Robbed the caravans of innocent people. Engaged in offensive warfare

* Said a woman should only inherit half as much as a man

* He had people who had sex outside of marriage stoned to death

(Koran, chapter 7:80 to 7:84). Followers today (Iran & Saudi Arabia) execute people for homosexual activity

* Divided the world up into (a) Dar al Salaam (Land of "peace"...or the part of the world ruled by Islamic law), and (b) Dar Al Harb (Land of war...or the part of the world NOT ruled by Islamic law….yet.)

* If your parents and friends aren’t Muslims, then dis-own them

* He cut off the hands of thieves - men and women

* He said to kill Jews

* Discriminated against non-Muslims, forcing them into slave-like status. Even required them to pay a special tax – the “jizya”

* Said women are the majority of people in hell
(Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 28).
* He said to not take Jews or Christians as friends
(Koran 5:51).
* Told his followers to lie
(“taqiyya”).
* Amongst his last dying words were "May Allah curse Jews and Christians"

* Women who commit lewdness: sentence them to in-home confinement for the rest of their life

* Was dishonorable….he signed treaties, with the intent of breaking them later

* He was bigoted, and a supremacist

* One of the few prophets to NOT follow, and preach, the Golden Rule….kill infidels, etc.

* Said Jews are apes and pigs. This is taught to children in British Islamic schools

* Called black people “raisin heads” (Bukhari Volume 9, Book 89, Number 256, and Bukhari Volume 1, Book 11, Number 662).
* Women can’t be Muslim clerics. He felt women were inferior to men…so it this the reason

* A man gets 72 virgins in paradise, but a women doesn’t.
* Women can not be judges (Bukhari 13/53).
** SOME CRITICS BELIEVE MOHAMMAD “JUST MADE IT ALL UP” (TO INCREASE HIS OWN SEXUAL, POLITICAL, AND ECONOMIC POWER) BECAUSE: **
* When challenged to perform miracles to prove his revelations, he could not
(Koran 17:90-93).
* The Koran didn’t introduce any new scientific revelations.
* Some critics argue his "revelations" just came from epileptic fits, not from an angel

* Believed the earth was flat (god would have known better), like most people of his day did

* Believed sperm is generated in the backbone
( Koran 86:6-7). This idea was proposed by Greek scientists before Mohammad’s time, and Mohammad allegedly copied it

* Critics argue that Mohammad changed his mind about something that God allegedly told him, so Mohammad conveniently said that SATAN had been the one who told him the now wrong verses - the “Satanic Verses”

* “The sun sets in a muddy spring”
( Koran 18:86).
* God talked a lot to Mohammad (through Gabriel,) about many many things, but why did God never say “oh, by the way, stop slavery”?
* Critics argue: “Why would god pick one 40 year old, illiterate, uneducated, salesman to give the most vital messages of all time to? Why not pick an educated statesman?”

* Some critics believe that it’s not coincidence that Mohammad was a salesman (his sales abilities helped him to sell people on the idea that an angel had visited him, even though he could perform no miracles to prove it?)
* Mohammad came after the other prophets, and some critics believe that Mohammad largely piggy-backed on the existing story of the Bible, and the credibility of the Bible, to get people to believe him.
** MOHAMMAD MADE MANY SPECIAL RULES FOR HIMSELF: **
* Said a man can have 4 wives, but a woman only 1 husband. But the Koran conveniently exempted MOHAMMAD from this limit….Mohammad had 12 wives, and many mistresses

* Said HIS widows couldn’t re-marry after his death - critics argue to keep people from killing him and taking his wives

* Actually ordered Muslims to give some of the booty they plunder to him
