There was a good scene challenge on character intros over on John August's site.

Why don't we kick off something similar...

How about a new guy or gal in the neighborhood, introduce him/her anywhere and anyway you want - you pick your premise, genre and tone.

How about a man/women walks into the Emergency Room?

Yeah - and set a deadline if you want.

I was about halfway through the other one, but this sounds more challenging.

It will be interesting to see how posting the scenes in the open will affect what actually gets submitted. Depending on the number of entries, of course.

Are you referring to those that fear having material "stolen"? This doesn't have to be a real project one's working on.

I was just thinking about how John mentioned the common themes that came up in many of the entries in his contest (hitmen, etc). Certain themes would pop up in an emergency room scene as well. The question is whether posting them publicly would cause people to "branch out", or whether they would "stick to their guns".

Example: Personally, I don't see anyone else introducing a shemale, even if there are a million different ways to do it. Now just watch X more people post severed penis intros and make me look silly.

Not really for or against it in any way, just curious.
