Your story reminds me of Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. You should consider writing a fictional book about your experiences in the first person. It would be really interesting to read.

Random association. I was attempting to figure out a solution to a small problem I have, and that was my thought, as I churned by brain for an answer while reading your story. For some reason the part about "they sometimes speak through other people--so pay attention" stuck in my head, made me think I should share.
