Susan Sarandon should have won for Thelma and Louise in 1991.

Denzel Washington should have won in 1992 for Malcolm X.

1993 was a very strong year, i'd have given any of the films or actors nominated the award.

It all went wrong in 1994 though. Pulp Fiction should have got best film, Morgan Freeman best actor, Samuel L. Jackson supporting actor, and Tarantino best director. Failing that, Shawshank Redemption best film. Forrest Gump was shite.

I suppose its wishful thinking that Babe would have got best film in 1995.

1996, Willliam H. Macy should have got supporting actor, Jerry Maguire and Cuba Gooding Jr are overrated.

L.A Confidential should have got best film and Curtis Hanson best director in 1997, its a quality film, much better than the overblown overhyped Titanic.

1998, Ian McKellen instead of Begnini, who totally overacted in Life is Beautiful. And Cate Blanchett is a far superior actress to that crybaby Gwyneth Paltrow. Peter Weir best director for the Truman Show, a wonderful film which is totally underrated.

Now im not usually a fan of Tom Cruise, but he was brilliant in Magnolia, and better than Michael Caine. And Catherine Keener is better than Jolie. Jonze should have won best director for Being John Malkovich, brilliant film.
