Big Bang - Biology - Big Stretch
Category: Religion and Philosophy
1. A massive ball of matter and energy heats up to extreme temperatures as it collapses. At some point this massive ball of matter and energy explodes outward into trillions of bits of matter and energy.
2. Due to laws of motion, gravitation and other forces, some of this matter begins to collect together; and as the matter collection accumulates, its collective gravitational field increases resulting in the creation a of cosmic "vacuum cleaner" of sorts, picking up other cosmic matter particles and other collections of matter as it travels through space. One of these cosmic "vacuum cleaners" ultimately resulted in the planet we call Earth.
3. Asteroids of ice, iron, etc, continue to bombard the large collection of matter called Earth; and all the while obeying the laws of physics, a net magnetic field develops around this large collection of matter called Earth. It turns out that this magnetic field protects the surface of this large collection of matter called Earth from the intense cosmic radiation coming from another but much larger collection of matter which is of course our Sun.
4. An atmosphere begins to form around the large collection of matter called Earth which, in addition to the magnetic field, begins to protect the surface of the Earth.
5. Several billions of years go by and Earth's surface environment continues to stabilize and even reaches a point where the planet's surface temperature will support the liquid phase of water……………
6. Millions and millions of years go by and now what ?…….Where is the Science that describes any link at all between the collection of cosmic matter with a relatively stable surface environment (Earth) and LIFE that exists on this plant. Why is there a seemingly substantiated scientific position regarding the link between physical chemistry and biology? Am I missing something? Is there a scientific experiment that I haven't been told about? To my knowledge, even the theory of evolution doesn't appear to provide a theory of this link? Yet most teachers teach the Theory of Evolution to our children as if this link exists and the theory is complete scientific fact. Instead, I am asking why don't we simply state the truth? "Scientifically speaking, there are things that we simply don't know, and the scientific link to the creation of life is one of them." Clearly, certainly biological entities evolve on our plant; this is a natural process; however, to date, there is no scientific data that provides any scientific evidence that life evolved from irradiated rocks and water or any other combination of matter, energy and time. Where is the scientific evidence that would lead anyone to believe that it is rational to believe that it is just matter of time before random events of matter and energy will create a sustainable and reproducing biological entity? And for the theories that the formula for life came to our Earth from comets or asteroids that collided with the Earth, I reiterate this question #6 regarding the comet or asteroid.
-Joshua Jennings (spock.123@hotmail.com) Your post reeks of the same stench that emanates from the multitudes of unscientific creationist propaganda sites and from the recently jailed Kent Hovind. Before I respond, let me point out that you have absolutely no idea what evolution is, and that you are arrogant, obnoxious, and foolish to post such an overdone topic into this forum without taking the time to educate yourself. Look up abiogenesis, Miller, Urey, and Fox. When you take the experiments of Miller&Urey and Sidney Fox together, you may understand a bit of how abiogenesis works. Before then, don't tie the big bang to evolution. This is a giant red flag that you have only been browsing those moron sites that have absolutely no scientific credence.

"Is there a scientific experiment that I haven't been told about?"
Why yes, yes there is. It's called the Miller Eury experiment. Good day to you sir.

Where is your answer, you fail without one. C'mon. People post the longest stuff here, and expect us to read it. Worse part is the fact that it is the exact same as another thread.

-Joshua Jennings (spock.123@hotmail.com) The fact that you're lumping evolution, abiogenesis and the big bang theory all into one shows me that you know little of the theories you are attempting to dismantle. Secondly, science does not pretend to "know all the answers" as you imply, but there has been a large amount of research done on abiogenesis. Which you would know if you were actually interested in learning about it instead of merely slinging dirt to support your creationist views.

What? ..... so your claiming that making the universe in 7 days is more plausable ..... do me a favour. Do you also believe that the Earth is the centre of the universe and that dinosaurs lived with cavemen.
The big bang is a lot, lot more believable than the noncense that the creationists believe.

Thank you for your posts (please continue to post)
I've read many of these theories from physical cosmology to "chemical evolution".
Fact: The science relating to the origin of life is incomplete and should be stated as such.
Your personal beliefs are your own business; however, when teaching others about these theories, we should be very clear as to what is science and what is philosophy. Yes .... the big bang is still a theory but its one its the most plausable theory Ive heard to date and one I would favour. The way to answer 'the big question' is one through science and mathmatics ..... not through religion and ancient stories.

No one in science is claiming to have figured out how life comes from non-life but in all actuality it isn't that crazy. We (living organisms) have the same elements in us as the soil and other abiotic elements. Chemical evolution is a new science and is making progress and there is ever growing evidence for the big bang. Nobel Prize for Evidence of Big Bang
