Current mood: ecstatic

When your US flag is worn and tatered I was taught by my father never to let the flag touch the ground. And if it did it was to be taken care of by the military, cub scouts, boyscouts, girl scouts, and even firemen.

I dislike when I see a flag in the trash and when I have seen that, I have taken the flag and placed it in my closet in order to give it to the fire dept. or military for proper flag ceremonial retirement .
If you can recite the Pledge of Allegiance then you are my trusted and True friend of me and of all Americans!
My job was always to place the flag outside on the post and make sure it was not tangled. That was one of my chores given to me by my father and I always took it very seriously.

It is debatable about what to do when the flag falls on the ground. Flags are expensive and I believe that if it is an accident that the US flag accidently touches the ground, then it is not disrespect. But if it it stopped on or placed in a landfill that is a different story in my own opinion. I have utmost respect for the US flag and the United States of America and believe that Americans can overcome any obstacle because we are together as the US.
