Here's a question for the crowd.

It is generally accepted by the Christian Community that God is eternal. That he has always existed and that he always will exist. It is also generally accepted by the Christian community that, no matter how old the earth may actually be, for the purposes of God's dealing with man, it is only 6000 years old.

What was God doing during all those eons prior to 6000 years ago? I heard someone on another thread opine that he created us to relieve boredom. I guess if he was sitting around and doing nothing then that's as good a guess as anything else.

What is God going to do after all the prophecies in Revelation have been fulfilled? Go back to his previous existence except now he has a bunch of us praising him for eternity?

That can get old real fast too.

If God created us simply to relieve boredom and it's a one-time shot.It looks like there is a basic flaw in the plan.

Even so.....It doesn't matterif the world is 6000 years old or 13.5 billion years old. When judge by the weight of eternity, they are mere blips.

What was God doing all that time prior to the earth being formed?

God is busy matching people to get married. If you think that is an easy job ask any match maker.

He matched my wife and I

Revelation is an asinine book. It has stars falling tot he earth being knocked out of the sky by the tail of a dragon. It also has the sky rupping like a curtain and a new jerusalem made of rocks 1500 miles on a side cube flying with no power.

Why do you even bring up such a silly topic?

The reason I brought it up is that it is generally the big finali that traditional Christianity is waiting for.

Like you said, the stars fall from the sky, we all rise from the dead, some of us file off to heaven and some of us file off to hell and.........

    what next?

Yeah.....light was a good idea...gotta give him credit for that one.

No, see what happened here? You've got me being light-minded and this OP was NOT intended for that. It was intended for serious discussion

In some cultures it's thought that God has kind of a hands off approach to this whole humanity thing. Kind of like a child who got bored real fast of something they made and wandered off to go play somewhere else.
