Variety News Brief: Dance takes another spin

The DancesWithFilms Film Festival is back for its ninth year July 21-27, 2006 at Laemmle's Fairfax Theater in Hollywood.
Priding itself as the "defiant fest of raw talent," event will feature nearly 70 films selected from over 1,000 entries around the world. Rules require that competition films not be associated with "known" actors, directors, writers or producers.
Past discovered talent includes scribe Dan Harris ("X-2," "Superman Returns"), thesp Kathryn Morris ("Cold Case") and Will Scheffer and Mark Olsen (creators of "Big Love").
