I have all three films and the first-appearance comic book (just fell in love with the Punisher).  I thought Dolph was too "quiet"; Jane just didn't seem big enough but was the best looking, and I really liked Travolta in it; Ray, just did it for me.  I liked the third best because he suited my idea of what the Punisher would look like in real life and this version seemed to be the most akin to the Punisher's "style" of violence. Frankly, I hated the Jigsaw and bro characters though.

I seem to remember there was a show on televison some time ago called The Equalizer and he had somewhat of an agenda not unlike The Punisher's, but I think he was a bit more tame.  I see the Punisher as an equalizer, not a criminal.

i did like the thomas jane version. i thought it was pretty well done. my only problem was that they changed certain parts of the story too much. punisher was not from florida, his entire family was not murdered on an island in the carribean. it was only his wife and son who were murdered.
but i still liked the movie. they made the changes work

warzone was far superior though. this was the punisher. he's a violent sadistic mass murderer of criminals who just doesn't give a fuck. and they got the backstory right. i still have some of the old warzone comics. this was great. the closest to the comics out of the 3 punisher movies.

I thought in the comics Frank Castle's wife Maria and a son and daughter were murdered in Central Park - my memory might be hazy - I used to own nearly all the Punisher, Punisher War Journal and Punisher war zone comics, holiday specials etc up till when they killed him and brought him back as some kind of avenging angel - I didn't like that version

I like the Punisher stuff that has come out in the past few years but Deadpool is now my favourite character - I'm doing cancer charity events dressed as Deadpool - I did Pink ribbon day monday as Deadpool for breast cancer (both my mum and Aunty died in their 50s of cancer - we're all born with cancer cells)

I beg to differ. First of all, Thomas Jane did a much better job as the Punisher then Stevens. Stevens may look more like the Punisher in the comics, but his acting in War Zone was total shit. I tried giving Stevens a chance as the Punisher, but I thought he sucked to high heaven. I also thought the guy who played Jigsaw was way over the top. He got on my nerves through out the damn movie. I like the fact that they took more things from the comics, but that doesn't make up for the shitty writing. It seems like they spent more time coming up with over the top gore, then they did trying to create a plot that was worth a damn. Even though I thought the version with Thomas Jane could have been better, I thought it was a masterpiece next to Warzone. Warzone was down right insulting. I have been a Punisher fan since I was in middle school. I tried to like Warzone. I tried giving the movie a second chance, hoping it would grow on me, but it sucked just as bad as the first time.

I rewatched Punisher:Warzone today and was laughing my arse off when that acrobatic wall climber did the front flip from one building to the other only to get blown to bits by a R.P.G. wielding Punisher mid-air lol!

Yeah your right, it was Stevenson, not Stevens. Whatever. I still think that he sucked as the Punisher.

You must have really low standards when it comes to movies.

No, actually I just fucking hate movies based on certain mediums that shit all over that medium. Such was the case with Lugdren's and Jane's Punishers. A few corny lines I can handle, although Jigsaw was stupid, his cannibalistic brother was hilarious.

I've actually got higher standards than you man. I've just learned to enjoy the simple things in life.

I'm sorry, I am having hard time understanding why anybody can honestly call Warzone a good movie. The writting was absolute shit. The villians were over the top and annoying. The character development was nonexistent. As for Stevenson being better then Jane, I guess that's true if you like bad acting. That's my biggest issue with Stevenson. It wasn't just because I thought Jane did a better job. I thought Stevenson's acting was horrible in Warzone. He may look more like the Punisher in the comics, but that doesn't make up for the bad acting. Not to mention the over the top gore. Now, being a long time horror movie fan, I can take gore. However, I think gore should be used sparingly. I value plot more then gore. That's another reason why I hated Warzone. That's why I think your standards must be low, if you think Warzone was a good movie. As a long time Punisher fan, I thought the entire movie was insulting.
