Don Gato
Oh, Senior Don Gato was a cat.
On a high, red, roof Don Gato sat.
He was there to read a letter, Meow, Meow, Meow
Where the reading light was better Meow, Meow, Meow.
Twas a love note for Don Gato.
"I adore you, " wrote the lady cat
Who was fluffy white and nice and fat.
There was not a sweeter kitty, Meow, Meow, Meow
In the country or the city, Meow, Meow, Meow.
And she said she'd wed Don Gato.
Oh, Don Gato jumped so happily!
Then fell off the roof and broke his knee,
Broke his ribs and all his whiskers, Meow, Meow, Meow
And his little Solar plexus, Meow, Meow, Meow.
"Aye Carumba!" cried Don Gato.
Oh, the doctors they came on the run
Just to see if something could be done.
And they held a consultation, Meow, Meow, Meow
About how to save their patient, Meow, Meow, Meow.
How to save Senior Don Gato.
But in spite of everything they tried,
Poor Senior Don Gato up and died.
Oh, it wasn't very merry, Meow, Meow, Meow
Going to the cemetery, Meow, Meow, Meow
For the ending of Don Gato.
As the funeral passed the market square,
Such a smell of fish was in the air!
As the smell of fish created, Meow, Meow, Meow,
He became reanimated, Meow, Meow, Meow!
He came back to life, Don Gato!
Ole! 'Don Gato'! One of my favorites. We also sang 'Goodnight Irene' (sanitized, naturally), 'The Blue-Tail Fly', and something or other about a woman sucking the venom from a snakebite her lover received. Both of them died at the end of the song because the woman had a rotten tooth, ha ha...I think it was an Irish song, but I don't remember the title. Oh, and 'John Henry'...we sang that, too.

Gawdaam... that was too many years ago and I've burned alot of braincells since.
I do remember one song that repeated "Fender Bender - yeah yeah yeah" which all of the kids in my class would sing "Finger Banger - yeah yeah yeah."
That song eventually got pulled from being sang in music class.
6th grade though - WOW, we had a guy as our teacher (Mr Moreland) and he was a musician and guitar teacher. I had already been playing for over a year, and when I asked to play his guitar (a sweet Les Paul) he freaked out that I could play so well.
I started bringing my guitar to school and the teacher and I would do presentations for the class. One day we did "All Along The Watchtower" and I played rhythm while he played lead.
That was the coolest music teacher I ever had in grade school.
